Sara Tinsley-Vance, PhD, APRN, Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida, USA, shares the key points from her talk on supporting patients and caregivers on the myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) journey. Dr Tinsley-Vance explains that many of the needs of patients with MDS are currently unmet. It is therefore essential to educate both patients and caregivers about MDS, provide psychological and emotional support as well as early integration of palliative care in order to improve the quality of life of these patients. This interview took place at the 16th International Congress on Myelodysplastic Syndromes, held virtually in 2021.
