Richard Rosenquist

Academic History

Richard Rosenquist, MD, PhD, is a Professor and Senior Physician in Clinical Genetics at Karolinska University Hospital, Solna, Sweden.

Prof. Rosenquist received both his medical degree in 1996 and his PhD degree in 1998 at Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden. He then became a Senior Physician at Uppsala University Hospital in 2000, where he started an internationally renowned research group focused on the molecular characterization of lymphoid malignancies. In 2007, Prof. Rosenquist became a Professor of Molecular Hematology at Uppsala University. He then started the SciLifeLab Clinical Genomics Facility in 2013, where he is the Platform Director today.

Speaking on molecular characteristics of lymphoid malignancies

Prof. Rosenquist has been involved in groundbreaking research revealing the mechanisms behind chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) as well as identifying novel prognostic and predictive markers. He has also presented research suggesting the role of autoantigens and microbial antigens in CLL pathogenesis.
