Academic History

Jürgen Kuball, MD, PhD, obtained his medical degree from the University of Mainz, Mainz, Germany, before undergoing further training at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, Seattle, WA. Prof. Kuball is both Chair of the Department of Hematology and Director of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Program at the UMC Utrecht Cancer Centre, Utrecht, Netherlands. Alongside this, Prof. Kuball is an active member of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) and has acted as Chair of the Legal Regulatory Affairs Committee (LRAC) since 2019.

Speaking on CAR T-cell therapy and transplantation in hematological malignancies

Prof. Kuball’s research interests include tumor immunology, graft-versus-host disease, and the development of next generation engineered immune cells. He is the co-founder of the company GADETA and holds multiple patents in the area of engineered immune cells. In addition to this, Prof. Kuball is an active member of the leukemia working party and stem cell working party of HOVON.
