Hanny Al-Samkari, MD, is the Peggy S. Blitz Endowed Chair in Hematology/Oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.
Dr Al-Samkari obtained his Medical Degree from Washington University, St. Louis, MO, followed by a Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, and Fellowships at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA.
Dr Al-Samkari is a NIH-funded clinical investigator, specializing in hemostasis, thrombosis, and hemolysis, with a focus on hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), immune thrombocytopenia, and hemolytic anemias. As Co-Director of the MGH HHT Center of Excellence, he oversees care for hundreds of patients with HHT and leads clinical trials to develop novel therapies for these disorders.
