Ghayas Issa

Ghayas Issa, MD, is a Medical Oncologist, specializing in the care of patients with leukemia, at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.

Dr Issa studied his Medical Degree at Saint Joseph University Faculty of Medicine, Beirut, Lebanon, followed by a Research Fellowship in Epigenetics at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, and a Clinical Residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, New York, NY. He then did a Clinical Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.

Dr Issa’s research focuses on understanding the genetic basis of leukemia to improve treatment outcomes and develop new therapies. He conducts translational research studying leukemia genetics to uncover the causes of disease progression and treatment response. Dr Issa’s work has earned him multiple awards and peer-reviewed funding in recognition of his contributions to leukemia research.
