Triplets with an azacitidine/venetoclax backbone in AML: targeted and mutation-agnostic approaches

Thomas Cluzeau, MD, PhD, Nice University Hospital, Nice, France, shares insight into the current and emerging triplet regimens with an azacitidine and venetoclax backbone in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Prof. Cluzeau discusses menin inhibitor-based triplets in NPM1-mutated and KMT2A-rearranged AML, FLT3 inhibitor triplets in FLT3-mutated AML, IDH1- and IDH2-targeted combinations, and mutation-agnostic triplets. He also touches on managing treatment-related cytopenias and infections, and highlights that the future goal of therapy is not only achieving deep complete remission but also measurable residual disease (MRD) negativity. This presentation took place at the 8th International Workshop on Acute Leukemias (iwAL) in Cambridge, MA.
