ASCO 2026 | How may purinostat methylate fit into the current treatment landscape for R/R MM and DLBCL?

Lijuan Chen, MD, PhD, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China, comments on the potential role of purinostat methylate (PM) in the current treatment landscape of relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (R/R MM) and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), highlighting their ability to bridge the gap between diagnosis and CAR T-cell therapy, and to mitigate treatment related side effects. Dr Chen notes that while CAR T-cell therapy is a valuable treatment option, its high cost, limited accessibility, and potential for severe side effects create a need for alternative or complementary therapies. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
