Tina Bagratuni, PhD, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Athens, Greece, discusses the importance of analyzing MYD88 and CXCR4 mutations in Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM), and further highlights challenges in the diagnosis of WM and other lymphoma subtypes. Dr Bagratuni also comments on the need to conduct more research on genes and markers in WM to improve diagnostic tools.
