In this video, Scarlett McNally, BSc, MB, BChir, FRCS(Tr&Orth), MA, MBA, FAcadMed, East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, Sussex, UK, discusses some patient-related factors that she is now aware of following her personal experience with being a surgeon, as well as a patient with multiple myeloma and amyloidosis. Dr McNally explains the importance of offering different approaches to patients living with long-term conditions, and further emphasizes the importance of shared decision-making and working with the patient to figure out what they want out of treatment.
