EHA 2022 | The impact of ageing on myeloma disease biology

Yael Cohen, MD, Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical center, Tel-Aviv, Israel, gives an overview of her presentation at EHA 2022, which focused on the impact of ageing on the disease biology of patients with multiple myeloma. Dr Cohen first highlights the poor outcomes associated with older and more frail patients, and then comments on several factors that may play a role, including aspects of the tumor, cytogenetics, and the immune microenvironment. To conclude, Dr Cohen explains the need for further investigation in this field to better understand patient outcomes and improve treatment approaches.
