iwCLL 2023 | Studying the mechanical properties of CLL cells

In this video, Cristina Scielzo, PhD, IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Milan, Italy, introduces the research she has been involved in which investigates the mechanical properties of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells. When comparing stiffness of healthy B-cells and leukemia B-cells, the latter were found to be softer due to changes in the cytoskeleton, however mechanical properties were altered following the addition of BTK inhibitors. This interview was recorded at the biennial International Workshop on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (iwCLL) 2023 meeting, held in Boston, MA.
