BSH 2024 | The effectiveness of ambulatory care for patients undergoing stem cell transplantation

Amy Colada, University College London Hospital, London, UK, discusses the effectiveness of ambulatory care in place of inpatient care for patients undergoing stem cell transplantation (SCT). Ambulatory care has positively impacted patient safety, cost-effectiveness, and length of stay, allowing valuable resources to be reallocated to patients with acute complications. Patients treated in ambulatory care are trusted to dispense their medications correctly and report treatment-related toxicities, increasing patient engagement and allowing them to feel more in control of their health. This interview took place at the 64th Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) Congress in Liverpool, UK.
