Martin Dyer, MA, DPhil, FRCP, FRCPath from the University of Leicester, Leicester, UK discusses issues surrounding brand changes at the 2017 British Society for Hematology (BSH) Annual Scientific Meeting in Brighton, UK. Brand changing can cause unease for some patients, however, for the majority, it is not a significant problem. Antibodies, for example, should be able to be used interchangeably. Should a patient request a specific drug, it would be difficult to argue, however, the price is the priority when prescribing drugs. He states that there should be some interesting discussions on this subject.
