TCT 2021 | COVID-19 in HCT recipients

Akshay Sharma, MBBS, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, discusses the results of a study evaluating the outcomes of patients who have undergone hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) who were diagnosed with COVID-19. In this evaluation, it was found that among recipients of allogeneic HCT with COVID-19, older age, male gender, and development of COVID-19 within 12 months of transplant were risk factors for increased mortality. This interview took place during the Transplantation & Cellular Therapy (TCT) 2021 Meetings.
