ISAL 2023 | How mis-splicing of coenzyme A synthase impacts erythroid differentiation in SF3B1-mutated MDS

Kevin Rouault-Pierre, BSc, MSc, PhD, Barts Cancer Institute, London, UK, shares some insights into a study which investigated how the mis-splicing of coenzyme A synthase (COASY) affects erythropoiesis in patients with SF3B1-mutated myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). This study also demonstrated that vitamin B5 could be used to restore and enhance erythroid differentiation in these cells, which may have interesting clinical implications. This interview took place at the 18th International Symposium on Acute Leukemias (ISAL XVIII), held in Munich, Germany.
