Eleni Gavriilaki, MD, PhD, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Athens, Greece, briefly discusses the long-term outcomes and late complications of stem cell transplantation (SCT) in patients with hematological malignancies. Dr Gavriilaki emphasizes the importance of addressing cardiovascular complications and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), as these are the two leading causes of death in transplant recipients who have not relapsed.
