EBMT 2023 | The impact of complex karyotype on post-transplant outcomes in NPM1-mutated AML

Nour Moukalled, MD, American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, shares the results of a retrospective study evaluating post-transplant outcomes in patients with NPM1-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with cytogenetic abnormalities, drawing focus on the impact of complex karyotypes. The study showed that even though some patients may have acceptable outcomes in terms of long-term survival, complex karyotypes are usually associated with worse outcomes following allogeneic transplantation. This interview took place at the 49th Annual Meeting of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) held in Paris, France.
