Erythropoietic Protoporphyria Rare Diseases

Rita Beier, MD, Hannover Medical School, Hannover, Germany, discusses the efficacy of therapeutic phlebotomies for patients with erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP). Therapeutic phlebotomies may represent a promising alternative for patients with EPP who have experienced unsuccessful outcomes with hallmark liver transplant (LT) and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) approaches. This interview took place at the 50th Annual Meeting of the EBMT in Glasgow, Scotland.
