Sin Tiong Ong, MD, Duke NUS Medical School, Singapore, discusses the significance of epigenetic dysregulation in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and its role in drug resistance and the transformation of CML to blast crisis. Prof. Ong goes on to discuss some of the molecular mechanisms involved in transformation to blast crisis, and concludes by explaining combination approaches that may be used to overcome drug resistance and transformation. This interview took place at the Eleventh Annual Meeting of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO 2023) held in Houston, TX.
