EHA 2021 | Molecular profile impacts platelet function and thrombin generation in essential thrombocythemia

Mercedes Gasior Kabat, MD, Hospital Universitario La Paz, Madrid, Spain, discusses the relationship between molecular profile, platelet activity and thrombin generation in patients with essential thrombocythemia. Comparison of data from 22 adult patients with essential thrombocythemia and 10 healthy controls demonstrated that the molecular profile of patients with essential thrombocythemia, such as the presence JAK2 mutations or MPL mutations, may impact platelet activity and thrombin generation. This interview took place at the virtual European Hematology Association (EHA) Congress 2021.
