Mary Frances McMullin, MD, Queen’s University Belfast, Belfast, UK, discusses the updated polycythaemia vera (PV) and secondary erythrocytosis guidelines produced by British Society for Haematology (BSH). Prof. McMullin higlights the updates on idiopathic and congenital erythrocytosis. The previous guideline was published in 2005 (McMullin et al, 2005) with an amendment in 2007 (McMullin et al, 2007) to update the diagnostic criteria following the discovery of the JAK2 mutation in patients with PV. This interview took place at the Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Advances Day 2019 in London, UK.
