ASH 2022 | DPd against DVd for daratumumab-naïve patients with R/R multiple myeloma

Hamza Hashmi, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC, provides insight into the findings of a study comparing the safety and efficacy of daratumumab, pomalidomide and dexamethasone (DPd) against daratumumab, bortezomib, and dexamethasone (DVd) in previously treated daratumumab-naïve patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) multiple myeloma. While the study did not show any statistically significant differences in response rates (RR), progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS), patients treated with DPd experienced more cytopenias whereas patients treated with DVd had a higher risk of developing peripheral neuropathy. This interview took place at the 64th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition congress held in New Orleans, LA.
