Lorena Saelices Gomez, PhD, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, discusses her work in which transythretin (TTR) aggregates were detected in the blood of patients with ATTR amyloidosis using a peptide probe, which could potentially serve as a novel biomarker in this disease setting.
