iwCLL 2023 | SF3B1 mutation and ATM deletion co-drive leukemogenesis through centromeric R-loop dysregulation

In this interview, Lili Wang, MD, PhD, City of Hope, Duarte, CA, discusses the coexpression of the SF3B1 mutation and ATM deletion and suggests that this co-occurrence controls leukemogenesis and the onset of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Dr Wang also elucidates the mechanism by which this likely occurs, centromeric R-loop dysregulation, which she has investigated in murine cells. This interview was recorded at the biennial International Workshop on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (iwCLL) 2023 meeting, held in Boston, MA.
