iwMPN 2026 | MPN Progression Registry: insights into the work of the MPN Research Foundation

In this roundtable discussion, David Shoultz, MPN Research Foundation, Chicago, IL, Kapila Viges, MPN Research Foundation, Chicago, IL, Douglas Tremblay, MD, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY, and Raajit Rampal, MD, PhD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, discuss the MPN Progression Registry, launched by the MPN Research Foundation in September 2025 to address patients’ uncertainty about disease progression. The experts highlight the registry’s direct-to-patient model, which has enrolled patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), and captures both patient-reported outcomes and long-term electronic medical record data. Kapila Viges provides an overview of the vision for the registry, and Dr Rampal and Dr Tremblay comment on its potential to identify surrogate biomarkers of progression and inform trial endpoints. This roundtable discussion took place at the 4th International Workshop on Myelodysplastic Syndromes & Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (iwMDS/iwMPN) 2026, held in Washington, D.C.
