In this video, Nirmish Shah, MD, Duke University, Durham, NC, comments on a project that aims to understand important themes in the lives of adolescent and adult patients with sickle cell disease (SCD) to allow for the development and validation of a patient-reported outcome (PRO) collection tool for use in clinical trials. Several key areas were highlighted through surveys and interviews, which are important to allow patients to accurately document their experience with SCD in their daily lives. This interview took place at the 65th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition, held in San Diego, CA.
