The 2022 Tandem Meetings | Racial and ethnic disparities in alloHSCT

Usama Gergis, MD, MBA, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, talks on racial and ethnic disparities in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT). In a model of 10,000 patients undergoing alloHSCT, it was shown that White patients have an 80% chance of receiving a transplant, whereas only 22% of Black patients and 35-40% of Asian or Hispanic patients are likely to undergo transplantation. This interview took place at the Transplantation & Cellular Therapy (TCT) Meetings of ASTCT™ and CIBMTR® 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
