COMy 2017 | Advances in multiple myeloma: a collaborative effort

Kenneth Anderson, MD of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA explains that any advances made in multiple myeloma (MM) research reflect the collaborative and international efforts of teams, their various collaborators and funders. It is also crucial to address the efforts of the patients who participate in clinical trials and undergo long- or short-term treatment to aid research and improve treatment for future generations and potentially develop a cure. Similar work in the past has allowed current patients to live a normal lifespan, which might not have been possible for people with myeloma several decades ago. Recorded at the 2017 World Congress on Controversies in Multiple Myeloma (COMy) in Paris, France.
