ICML 2021 | Challenges in grade 3B follicular lymphoma management

Eliza A. Hawkes, MBBS Hons, FRACP, DMedSc, Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia, describes the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of grade 3B follicular lymphoma (FL), a rare form of FL. Grade 3B FL is hard to accurately diagnose due to inconsistent results from immunohistochemical staining techniques. The heterogenous nature of FL can also make forming consistent treatment strategies difficult, where patients with grade 3B FL can simultaneously have lower grade FL or diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Improving patient outcomes will require optimizing diagnostics and treatment of grade 3B FL. This interview took place during the 2021 International Conference on Malignant Lymphoma (16-ICML).
