Per Ljungman, MD, PhD, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden, discusses the challenges for hematological transplantation associated with COVID-19. Research endorsed by the executive committee of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) made recommendations that transplant centers should avoid patient COVID-19 infection, whilst also highlighting the limitations placed on international transplants due to restrictions on travel and border movement.
