IMS 2022 | Causes & management of renal impairment in patients with multiple myeloma

Ravi Vij, MD, MBA, Washington University Medical School, St. Louis, MO, discusses the causes of renal insufficiency in patients with multiple myeloma, commenting on the optimal management of these patients. According to Prof. Vij, it is important to treat patients with therapies that allow them to recover renal function early in order to ensure better long-term outcomes. In addition, Prof. Vij notes that whilst patients can be treated with existing anti-myeloma therapies, they may require dose reductions. This interview took place at the 19th International Myeloma Society Meeting (IMS) held in Los Angeles, CA.
