Andrew Lister, MD from Barts Cancer Institute, London, UK provides his follicular lymphoma highlights from the International Conference on Malignant Lymphoma (ICML) 2017, Lugano, Switzerland. Prof. Lister discusses a number of the presentations given during the meeting. One presentation in particular, on the long-term follow up of initial treatments for advanced follicular lymphoma, sparked good debate on whether R-CHOP is the best first-line treatment. Prof. Lister goes on to discuss the role of rituximab as a maintenance therapy as well as data on pattern of survival in follicular lymphoma.
