ASH 2023 | The risk of bleeding in patients with von Willebrand disease hospitalized due to AMI

Orly Leiva, MD, NYU Langone Health, New York City, NY, discusses the risk of post-hospitalization bleeding in patients with von Willebrand disease (VWD) who have experienced acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Retrospective analyses have determined that the risk of bleeding is increased during post-AMI hospitalization in these patients. However, many questions about the chronic management of AMI in VWD remain unanswered. This interview took place at the 65th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition, held in San Diego, CA.
