BSH 2022 | Using prehabilitation to improve patient outcome post-transplant

Keith Wilson, MBBS, FRCP, FRCPath, Cardiff University, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, Cardiff, Wales discusses the benefits of using prehabilitation to improve patient outcome and response following transplantation. Dr Wilson first explains that frailty can be improved in the elderly population using prehabilitation, and then further explains an upcoming project in his clinic which aims to investigate the impact of prehabilitation in younger patients undergoing transplantation, and whether this will improve patient outcome as well as potentially reduce the cost of post-treatment care. This interview took place at the 62nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) 2022, in Manchester, UK.
