Maximilian Steinhardt, MD, University Hospital Würzburg, Würzburg, Germany, outlines currently used imaging techniques for the diagnosis of AL amyloidosis including echocardiography and bone scintigraphy, commenting on the limitations of these approaches, and highlighting the need for novel biomarkers to detect amyloid deposits in different organs. This interview took place at the 2022 International Symposium on Amyloidosis (ISA) held in Heidelberg, Germany.
