Kenneth Anderson, MD of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA gives us an overview of the main topics that will be discussed at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) 2017 meeting. As the largest hematology meeting in the world, ASH welcomes not only healthcare professionals and researchers, but also patients interested in cutting-edge information on hematologic disorders and hematologic malignancies. Prof. Anderson outlines some of the themes of the meeting, including precision medicine, genomics, and the promise of immune-based treatments. ASH is also involved in outreach programs for patients, researchers and physicians in developing regions such as Asia and South America.
