ASH 2020 | SARS-CoV-2 infection in pediatric oncology patients

Jenna Rossoff, MD, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Chicago, IL, discusses the results of a case series looking into the course of SARS-CoV-2 infection in pediatric oncology patients. Six patients were identified, and all had mild symptoms and did not require hospitalization. The results suggest that pediatric cancer patients are not necessarily at a significantly higher risk of severe disease compared to the general pediatric population. This interview took place during the 62nd American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition, 2020.
