Anna Sureda, MD, PhD, Catalan Institute of Oncology, Duran I Reynals Hospital, Barcelona, Spain, discusses a retrospective analysis of allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT) outcomes in elderly patients with hematologic malignancies. The study indicated comparable outcomes between fit elderly patients and younger patients, emphasizing that comorbidities should also be considered when deciding if an elderly patient is a candidate for alloSCT. This interview took place at the 65th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition, held in San Diego, CA.
