Maria Teresa Voso, MD, University Tor Vergata Rome, Rome, Italy, discusses the etiology and clinical presentation of therapy-related myelodysplastic syndromes (tMDS) at EHS MDS 2021. In particular, Dr Voso discusses the role of clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP), complex karyotype and somatic mutations such as TP53 and PPM1D. This interview took place during the 2021 European School of Hematology (ESH) 7th Translational Research E-Conference on Myelodysplastic Syndromes.
