BSH 2023 | Pitfalls in the diagnosis of red cell disorders: the value of reticulocyte count

Noémi Roy, MBChB, BSc, DPhil, MRCP, FRCPath, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, Oxford, UK, evaluates traditional methods used to diagnose anemia, and further expresses the importance of analyzing bone marrow function using reticulocyte count. Dr Roy explains that this method is underrated and should be incorporated in clinical practice, as it can provide valuable information on the underlying cause of disease.
