IMS 2026 | Genomic and immune signatures of ibrutinib response and resistance in Waldenström macroglobulinemia

Tina Bagratuni, PhD, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Athens, Greece, discusses distinct genomic and immune signatures associated with response and resistance to ibrutinib in Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia. She highlights gene expression signatures associated with progression-free survival, including a set of approximately 20 genes that may help predict ibrutinib response beyond MYD88 and CXCR4 mutation status, as well as immune exhaustion, regulatory T cells and inflammatory pathways that distinguish non-responders following treatment. This interview took place at the 23rd International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting in Glasgow, UK.
