IMS 2024 | Abnormal serum immunofixation patterns following BCMA CAR-T in multiple myeloma

Mateo Mejia Saldarriaga, MD, Weill Cornell Medicine, New York, NY, discusses the phenomenon of abnormal serum immunofixation patterns (ASIPs) following BCMA CAR-T in multiple myeloma. In their study of roughly 45 patients, ASIPs occurred frequently and correlated with higher immunoglobulin levels. Dr Saldarriaga emphasizes the need for further research to clarify the clinical significance of this. This interview took place at the 21st International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
