Adrian Mosquera Orgueira, MD, PhD, University Hospital of Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Spain, discusses barriers to implementing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in standard clinical practice. He explains how clinics are not yet optimized to make the best use of these strategies to improve clinical decision-making. To overcome these barriers, it is necessary to train clinicians in machine learning and data analysis and incorporate experts in the machine learning field to guide the implementation of AI solutions in healthcare settings. This interview took place at the 65th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition, held in San Diego, CA.
