ISTH 2023 | Using human stem cell-derived hepatic organoids to model and correct FVII deficiency

Maria Eugenia Chollet Dugarte, MD, PhD, Oslo University Hospital, Oslo, Norway, discusses the use of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived hepatic organoids for modelling Factor VII (FVII) deficiency, a bleeding disorder with high prevalence in Norway. Dr Eugenia Chollet Dugarte explains how the organoids are generated from patient-derived cells and further discusses how these models can be used to study coagulation factors and the phenotype of patient cells. This interview took place at the 31st Congress of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), held in Montréal, Canada.
