BSH 2022 | An overview of patient-related factors from a surgeon’s perspective

In this video, Scarlett McNally, BSc, MB, BChir, FRCS(Tr&Orth), MA, MBA, FAcadMed, East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, Sussex, UK, discusses some patient-related factors that she is now aware of following her personal experience with being a surgeon, as well as a patient with multiple myeloma and amyloidosis. Dr McNally explains the importance of offering different approaches to patients living with long-term conditions, and further emphasizes the importance of shared decision-making and working with the patient to figure out what they want out of treatment. This interview took place at the 62nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) 2022, in Manchester, UK.
