Brian Koffman, MDCM (retired), DCFP, FCFP, DABFP, MSEd, CLL Society, Inc., Chula Vista, CA, discusses the underrepresentation of elderly individuals in clinical trials, and advocates for greater inclusivity in future trials in order to provide data which is more representative of real-world patient populations. Dr Koffman also comments on how less toxic, efficacious novel agents have shifted the treatment paradigm for elderly patients.
