Academic History

Thomas James Kipps, MD, PhD, is Professor of Medicine, Evelyn and Edwin Tasch Chair in Cancer Research, and Deputy Director of Research Operations at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center, San Diego, CA.

Prof. Kipps received his medical degree and immunology PhD from Harvard University. He completed his residency and fellowship in internal medicine, hematology and genetics at Stanford University, Stanford, CA.

With an international reputation for his work in cancer research, gene therapy, and immunology Prof. Kipps has been a field leader for many years, has helped to develop standardized treatment protocols and is the author of over 300 publications.
