Ruben Mesa
Ruben A. Mesa, MD, has a special interest in myeloproliferative neoplasms, including polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia and myelofibrosis, and is very active in research focusing on targeted small molecules.
As the principal investigator or co-principal investigator of more than 45 clinical trials, and author of more than 300 publications, Ruben brings to VJHemOnc a wealth of experience and deep understanding of hematological oncology.
His preferred approach is to target key aspects of disease such as the fibrosing process in myelofibrosis, or overcoming symptomatic burden such as anemia or splenomegaly. He has a particular interest in the more holistic, patient focussed approach to care, and is heavily invested in patient education and patient engagement.
