Prof. Foà gained his medical degree in Turin and specialized in Pediatrics and in Hematology. Worked at the MRC Leukaemia Unit, Royal Postgraduate Medical School and Hammersmith Hospital of London between 1976 and 1979. Sabbatical at Memorial Sloan‐Kettering Cancer Center, New York between 1991 and 1992. His main interests have been the biological characterization of acute and chronic lymphoproliferative disorders, the role of molecular biology in the diagnosis and monitoring of hematological malignancies, the role of cytokines in lymphoid malignancies, gene profiling, microarray analyses and next generation sequencing in acute and chronic leukemias, design of innovative therapeutic strategies for hematological neoplasms.
