Academic History
Paul Hampel, MD, is a Hematologist and Oncologist at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He obtained his medical degree in 2015 from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Columbia, MO, and his residency in internal medicine in 2018 from the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Columbia, MO, where he also completed his fellowship in Hematology/Oncology in 2021.
Speaking on treatment resistance and treatment sequencing optimization in lymphoproliferative diseases
Dr Hampel’s key interests lie in lymphoproliferative diseases, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), non-Hodgkin and Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL/HL), hairy cell leukemia, and T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia. More specifically, his research focuses on improving our understanding of resistance mechanisms to targeted therapies and of the optimal sequencing of treatment. Dr Hampel is also involved in ongoing clinical trials and real-world outcomes research, and he conducts basic research into clonal heterogeneity and evolution of disease in CLL.
